hello there! i’m back!
an update and what’s to come.
Hello friends!
It’s been a while since I’ve sent out an email newsletter. I hope you’re all doing well! 2025 was a rough start for me. But spring is in the air, and I have a lot of creative ideas flowing through my brain! Hopefully, the inspiration won’t die out so soon.
Status of My Blog and Email Newsletter
With all this inspiration (and since I finally bought a new computer), I will be reviving my blog, Nibs and Novels! I’ll be blogging again starting tomorrow and hope to post twice a week with one post being pen and stationery related and my second post being books related. My goal is to work my way up to four posts a week, but I think two is a safe place to start.
As for my email newsletter, that will stay here on Substack. My newsletter will go out every one to two weeks with current happenings in my life, like pens I’ve inked, system changes, and books I’m currently reading. I’ll also share links to the blog posts I posted during the week if you’re interested in checking them out.
At the moment Substack makes the most sense for my email newsletter with the social aspect the platform provides. So I’m not abandoning this at all. And my blog will provide me with a platform to write some formal posts and avoid filling people’s inboxes with things they may not be interested in. (Although, I do hope that you check out the blog posts you are curious about when I share links to them.)
My Instagram Informal Book Club
Also, I’m bringing back my Informal Book Club over on Instagram! To be honest, it’s probably more of a read along than a book club, but I hope you’ll join when we’re reading a book that interests you.
This month, we’re reading Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett (Buy at: Amazon | B&N | Kobo | Libro.fm). It’s been on my TBR for a while, and I’m so glad to finally be reading it. A lot of people seem to have already read and loved it. So I’m very excited!
I just started reading it, and I’m enjoying the writing style. It’s written kind of in a journal format, which I appeals to me as a journaler myself.
Current State of My Journal and Planner System
I have a blog post scheduled to be posted tomorrow recapping my planner journey during the first quarter of 2025. So I won’t bog you down with all the details.
Currently, I’m happily settled in my standard size Traveler’s Notebook. I primarily live off of daily logs in a grid insert, but I do have the weekly + memo insert (#019) for a weekly overview.
I’m also loving my work-specific commonplace book, which houses all of the copied text and my notes from media I consume for work. I’m currently working on overhauling my personal commonplace book. Both are in A5 size Leuchtturm1917 notebooks.
I haven’t done a “dear diary” or memory keeping style journal entry in ages, which is probably why I rely on my daily logs so much. All of my brainstorms and brain dumps go into my TN along side my Bullet Journal style daily logs. Hopefully, I’ll get back into journaling once I’m settled in my commonplace systems.
What have you all been up to these past couple of months? Are you settled in your 2025 planners and journals yet?
🩷, Amy
